A Year In Review

As 2018 comes to a close, I pause to think about all that has happened over the past year - and what a year it has been!

In my work as a consultant, I've had the pleasure to providing guidance and training to an assortment of amazing non-profits in our community, all of which were an honor to serve.

One of the things I like to reflect upon, is a celebration of my successes and "lessons learned." Below is one handy tool I found to help me assemble my thoughts and I encourage you to take a look at your own accomplishments over the past twelve months. I believe it is an important exercise to move forward into the next year so I can do my best for my clients:

What Worked:

  • What worked really well this year?

  • What did you do to create these wins? (think actions / mindset / behaviors)

  • Where were you most satisfied in your efforts this year? (happiness leaves clues)

  • Where were you bravest this year? Where did you grow the most?

  • What do you want to continue in the next year? (think projects / actions / commitments / mindsets)

What Didn’t Work:

  • What did not work well this year?

  • What specific actions / decisions / situations led to this?

  • Where did you get in your own way this year?

  • What did you want to do, but didn’t? Why not?

  • What are the three biggest lessons you learned this year, and how will that impact your year ahead?

My Best & Brightest:

  • What were my greatest accomplishments over the past year?

  • What I am most proud of?

What are my best moments in the key areas of my life? Financially - Professionally - Enjoying my Life - Health & Appearance - Relationship - Personal Development - Community Engagement -

It is easy to lose site of what has already happened but I believe you can learn from the celebrations of accomplishment in order to take it to the next level.

If you are looking to step up your efforts in fundraising, board development, or if you are preparing a capital campaign, please give me a call to see how I might help you in any of those areas. Happy New Year! Clarinda
